My Mission:
To encourage and empower people to edit and curate all that surrounds them in their home.
To help people navigate the journey of moving into a new home in a coordinated and organized way and relieve the anxiety that comes with this transition.
To create calm and peaceful spaces that function to support happy and independent living.
My Story
I have always been a sorter, straightener and systemizer; editing, re-arranging, color coding and labeling everything around me! Creating a visually calm and peaceful home brings me so much joy. This led to a successful 15+ year career in consumer product design and merchandising.
The idea for NEST done neatly™ began after moving my 90-year-old mother-in-law from a 2,000 square foot home to a 500 square foot studio apartment. Trust me, I needed all my skills! Helping her sort, donate, recycle, trash, pack and stage her home for sale was a draining and emotional experience that required lots of patience and very good listening. An experience no one should do alone. Sometimes you need that friend by your side to infuse energy and help you tackle the tough project. I knew there must be other people that might need this support and help.
Planning a safe and functional home she would be happy living in, surrounded by the things she loved most, was my top priority at every stage so that in the end she could very quickly feel comfortable and enjoy living in her new space. We had to make smart choices about what she would bring to her new home. She has some physical limitations, so unique organization and storage solutions were also necessary in the new space to keep her safe and living independently.
Today, I enjoy my empty nest with my husband Greg and our Havanese Henry. When we are not in a pandemic, I spend my extra time volunteering for the American Cancer Society’s “Road to Recovery” program, driving cancer patients to and from their treatments. Something I miss very much and can’t wait to resume.
